WWW Wednesdays #8

www wednesdayI slacked on my usual memes this week because of moving on Monday and my birthday yesterday. My participation in memes most likely won’t happen on a regular weekly basis anymore now that I’m comfortable with developing some other features. If the topic stands out to me and I have a good response for it, I’ll definitely participate! Without further ado…

Second Chance Summer16081202The books are both for my Goodbye Summer Readathon (and also cheating by having them be a part of Swoony September). I can tell that Second Chance Summer is going to be heavier read, but I’m looking forward to the fact that it will be a more family-oriented book than a romance one. I’m almost done with Open Road Summer and am really excited to see how it ends. I love the characters in this book.

161011485231173Since last Wednesday, I finished two books. It feels weird because this is the least I’ve read since before August. This past week has been ridiculously busy and there are no signs that it’s going to slow down. I liked Five Summers but it wasn’t as good as I expected. I loved Twenty Boy Summer! It was a perfect blend of heavy and light contemporary topics.

Effortless With You (Effortless With You, #1)I bought this one a long time ago and it’s been sitting on my Kindle for a while. Effortless with You has almost a four star rating on Goodreads so I’m hoping for the best! I currently don’t have any audiobooks lined up next; I’m waiting to see if anything I want to read for my readathons this month goes on sale.

Swoony September Challenge

swoony septemberHello all! I’m here to announce I’ve lost my mind and am joining another challenge. Check out The Bookaholic Blurbs for more details! It’s basically a challenge to read some swoon-worthy contemporary romances for September. This is my favorite genre, so what better time to do this challenge — during my favorite month (which also happens to be my birthday month)! 🙂

Here’s my TBR for the challenge. The books towards the top of the TBR are technically also in my Goodbye Summer Readathon, so I’ll be carrying the swoony summery books for the first half of the month and finishing them after my other readathon is over, if I don’t get to them in time. I should be able to read the whole list by the end of the month while hopefully being able to throw in some other genres in between.

Goodbye Summer TBR List

goodbye summer readathonToday I’ll be starting my Goodbye Summer Readathon, where I motivate myself to finish the summery books I like to read during the season. Here’s my information post and the general page where I’ll be updating progress and goals. I don’t expect anyone to join in – but you’re more than welcome to! This is just my way of getting through some summer books before fall officially starts.

Without further ado, here’s my TBR list that I’ll be completing between now and September 15th. I’ll be kicking it off with Since Last Summer!

Friday Finds #1

friday finds

I find new books in a variety of ways. I head to Goodreads and do some browsing – sometimes I check out other people’s feeds or Read shelves; sometimes I look at their recommendations for me. I love going to Barnes & Noble and browsing the YA shelves to see new releases or find books by authors I like. I immediately add them to my Goodreads shelf so I don’t forget them (thank god for iPhones)…or I buy them on the spot. Lately, as I’ve gotten deeper in the book blogging world, I check out people’s blogs that I follow and see some of the reviews they’ve done recently. If any of the books sound interesting, I’ll add them to my shelf. Here are the ten latest books I’ve added to my shelf, where I found the book, and why it sounds interesting.
